role players in photography. It easily determines the quality of any
photographs. It has always found that good photography requires a skills and
techniques to make your prints look good and very professional. Photography lighting takes a little
planning, knowledge and understanding of a few techniques.
There are different types of
lighting used in photography these days.
Hard and soft light - Hard light produces well-defined, dark
shadows and tends to originate from a single light source, which is usually
either small or located far away. On the other hand soft light produces either
soft shadows or no shadows. It can easily generate from many light sources, by
diffusing light using some kind of barrier. Hard light can be used to create
images with sharp contrasts and highlights, emphasizing shape and texture. Soft
light, by contrast, creates lighting that is more even, and which better
depicts the colors and shapes of the subject.
Artificial
and natural light –
Natural light refers to sunlight, while artificial light refers to all kinds of
light sources, including: fluorescent lights, electric lights, use of flash,
and so on. Artificial light from different sources will yield different color
heat signatures even.
