Lighting
plays a crucial role in photography. It is very effective in bringing a photograph to life and it can also generate
effects, including spectacular shadows or silhouettes etc. There are different
techniques that are used for Photography Lighting includes:
Hard and
Soft Light
Hard lights produce well-defined,
dark shadows and tend to originate from a single light source which can be used
to create images with sharp contrasts and highlights, emphasizing shape and
texture. It is also used to enhance the 3D effect and create dramatic effects
to any image. On the contrary, soft light produces either soft light or either
soft shadows or no shadows at all.
Artificial
and Natural Light
Natural
light play key role in photography even though is less controllable, and varies
greatly depending on numerous conditions such as time of day, season, weather,
geographical location, and so on. The challenges of using natural light are
quite similar to those faced when shooting in artificial light. However,
artificial light benefit you with easy controlling and manipulating light.
Furthermore, these lights from different sources will yield different color
heat signatures.
The
choice of different types of light to use completely depends on the type of
photography, the subject, and the desired effect. So, make the safest choice
